Healthy Pregnancy
If you are thinking about parenting or placing your child for adoption it is important for the sake of your and your baby's health to begin prenatal care. Those who get prenatal care are less likely to have serious problems with the pregnancy, are less likely to deliver prematurely, and are more likely to have healthy babies.
Do:
- Take a prenatal vitamin
- Maintain a healthy weight
- Exercise regularly
- Eat healthy foods
- Manage stress and chronic health conditions
- See your health provider for regular prenatal checkups
- Talk to your health care provider about any medications you may be taking
Don't:
- Smoke
- Drink alcohol
- Use illicit drugs
